BlackSwan Wins Best Data Discovery and Catalog Solution at Data Management Insight Awards
A-Team Group has recognised BlackSwan’s ELEMENT™ as a leader in modernising data discovery, integration and orchestration for capital markets
BlackSwan Technologies is thrilled to announce our recent win at the 2022 Data Management Insight Awards Europe for the Best Data Discovery and Catalog Solution. Our flagship platform ELEMENT™ was recognised for offering capital market participants a comprehensive, accessible and timely data discovery, integration, orchestration and cataloguing solution.
The annual Data Management Insight Awards Europe honours the leading providers of data management solutions, services and consultancy to entities participating in European capital markets, including stock exchanges, publicly listed companies, and investment firms.
This year’s winners were selected by A-Team Group’s independent, expert advisory board and its Data Management Insight community of C-level executives and department leaders. The evaluation criteria included the depth of involvement in the capital markets and the ability to deliver transformative change, faster speed to market, and a competitive edge.
ELEMENT™’s data discovery and catalog capabilities
ELEMENT is pre-integrated with tens of millions of high credential and low credential sources ranging over 100+ jurisdictions. It comes equipped with a Data Fabric that facilitates continuous data discovery via data virtualisation, allowing data to reside across different business units and data providers, while being readily accessible for consumption.
ELEMENT’s knowledge graphs build a 360-degree view of entities (individuals, organisations, etc.) and their relationships in real time for additional context. Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning algorithms parse and index structured and unstructured data from hundreds of sources, further enriching entity profiles and ensuring that the data catalogued is always up-to-date and accurate.
The platform’s data cataloguing capabilities mean that data assets are described using structured metadata, starting from the most basic properties, such as name, content keywords and access instructions, to more fine-grained ones, such as the schema elements they use and their meaning. This increases their discoverability, interoperability and reduces the exploration time required by data scientists/analysts. As a result, teams can become more efficient as they can reuse data assets with ease, and subsequently reduce costs.
CEO, Michael Ouliel said: “We’re honoured to be recognised by the data management community for our state-of-the-art data capabilities that enable enterprises to enter the next generation of data ecosystem that incorporates any internal or external datapoint accessible to their organisations. We believe that IT leaders should be enablers of data as a commodity exposed to users, citizen developers and external app providers”.
BlackSwan’s growing list of awards and accolades include the 2022 A-Team Insight Innovation Award for the Most Innovative Implementation of Knowledge Graph Technologies, listings in Gartner’s Market Guide for Graph Database Management Systems, and for Data and Analytics Governance Platforms, and numerous listings in Gartner Hype Cycles for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science/ML. BlackSwan Technologies also won the 2021 AI Tech Award for the Big Data AI category by AI DevWorld.
